What Size Pouch Do I Need for Seeds?
Products are normally sold by weight, while flexible packaging is specified by volume. Because bulk density varies from product to product, the same weight can require very different pouch sizes.
As a starting point, medium free-flowing vegetable seeds typically have a bulk density of approximately 0.45–0.70 g/ml — but seeds vary more than almost any other product. We also recommend leaving sufficient headspace so the pouch can be filled and the zipper or top seal closed comfortably.

Important: This seed pouch size guide is approximate. Peas and beans are denser than the range above, while grass seed and in-shell sunflower seeds are far lighter and need much bigger pouches. If you are unsure which size you need, order a sample and test it with your actual product before placing a larger order.
